Systemic Therapy
Life doesn’t always go to plan. Neither do relationships. Sometimes it all gets too much.
We don’t have to understand everything straight away. But we can talk about it.
Systemic psychotherapy for adults, young people and couples in Vienna — including sessions together as a family.
Perhaps several difficulties have come together. Perhaps you’ve been feeling very low for a long time. Everyday life takes a lot of energy, and it’s hard to imagine a way forward.
You don’t have to sort out your difficulties or find the right words before you come. You are welcome here, even when you’re dealing with many problems at once.
We make space for what you’re going through and explore together what helps you feel steadier, what small steps might be possible, and where additional support could help.
ADHD and autism are particular interests of mine. People are, too.
Why do some things take so much effort? How often do you adapt to fit in? And what do you need for yourself?
We can explore these questions together. With or without a diagnosis.
Work, school, family, relationships: the expectations can be high. It’s easy for your own needs to get lost along the way. Physical and hormonal changes can also be challenging.
Here, there is room for you. Even if you can’t quite put your finger on what’s missing.
Closeness, conflict, sexuality or different wishes: we look at what’s happening between you and what might change.
On your own, as a couple or together as a family. Whether monogamous, open, polyamorous or queer: different ways of living and relating are welcome. Your identity doesn’t have to be the focus of therapy.
Before our first conversation, you don’t need to be able to name your problem precisely or set a goal.
We get to know each other, talk about what brings you here and see whether working together feels right. Afterwards, you can take your time deciding how to proceed.

During the first family therapy session, we discuss together how much time would be useful for the second session. The fee is based on the agreed duration.
To arrange an appointment, please send me an email. I’m difficult to reach by phone: during sessions, my attention is with my clients, and afterwards, often with my children.
As a psychotherapist, I am bound by the statutory duty of confidentiality under Section 45 of the Austrian Psychotherapy Act 2024 (PThG 2024).
Everything you share with me in the course of psychotherapy is treated confidentially.
Exceptions apply where required by law, particularly certain duties to report or notify the relevant authorities.
Special legal provisions on consent and confidentiality also apply when working with minors (Section 46 PThG 2024).
Written statements and clinical reports can be provided by agreement during ongoing psychotherapy. The time involved is charged separately.
Please cancel appointments at least 24 hours in advance by phone or email. The session fee is charged for cancellations at shorter notice.
If you have a mental health condition requiring treatment, you can apply for a contribution towards the cost from your statutory health insurer:
ÖGK: €33.70 · SVS: €50 · BVAEB: €50.20
You will need a confirmation for psychotherapy issued by your general practitioner before your second therapy session. Approval from your insurer is required from the 11th session onwards. I am happy to help with this.
Private supplementary health insurance may cover all or part of the cost, depending on your policy. Please check with your insurer yourself and let me know whether, and to what extent, the costs will be covered.
Good to know: my fees are exempt from VAT. I do not offer therapy places fully funded by statutory health insurance.

I’m Diane Sittinger, a systemic psychotherapist.
My path took me from Burgenland to Vienna, then Berlin — and back to Vienna. I worked in hospitality, tourism and later as a social pedagogue with girls and boys.
I began my psychotherapy training in 2018 and have been self-employed with my own practice since 2022. I gained professional experience at, among other places, the ÖAS outpatient clinic and the Department of Psychotherapy at Landesklinikum Tulln.
Today, I live with my family in Vienna’s Donaustadt district.
My own path hasn’t been a straight line. Perhaps that’s part of why I’m interested in the many different ways people shape their lives. I meet you with curiosity, openness and respect.
